“…my son and I come to dinner at your restaurant on his birthday as often as we can!”
When I was pregnant with my son, who is [now] 26 years old, I was very overdue. He was 8 days late, and I was very ready to not be pregnant anymore and to meet this child! Everyone gave me advice about what to do to start my labor, and some of the ideas were just plain crazy. But someone told me that eating spicy salsa would help. So my father, my husband, and I all had dinner at Tortilla Flats. When I told the waiter why I was there, he told me he was going to get “the special salsa” from the kitchen. I do not like spicy food, but I ate all of that salsa, and it was really hot! We left the restaurant at 8 pm, I went into labor at 11 pm, and my son, Joseph, was born at 3 am. That salsa really worked! My whole family knows this story, and my son and I come to dinner at your restaurant on his birthday as often as we can (he lives in LA now). I also tell every overdue pregnant mom I meet to go to Tortilla Flats and ask for the special salsa!
Take good care,
Jill
